SPUC White Flower Appeal this Sunday

The Society for the protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) is currently campaigning to stop the decriminalisation of abortion, which means taking abortion outside the law.

This is the most dangerous threat to unborn children and their mothers in decades.

Please be as generous as you can to help us defeat this latest attack on unborn babies and their mothers and to stop abortion getting even worse in this country by decriminalisation.

Meet the SPUC representative after Mass in the Narthex.

Devotion of Our Lady Untier of Knots: Tuesday 15th January, 7:30pm, at St Mary’s. Talk on untying the knots of problematic human relationships, followed by prayers and refreshments. This is part of a novena across the Warrington Pastoral area. We gladly welcome members of other parishes and their clergy.

Young Adults Group: Sat 19th January, for 18-35: excursion to Holywell, the only place of pilgrimage where pilgrims have come without interruption even during Penal Times, due to the reputation of sanctity of the martyred virgin St Winifred, a wonderful intercessor for holy purity.

10am: Depart from St Mary’s Warrington: let us know if you need a lift or can offer a lift: iverrier@fssp.org. 11am: Meet at the large car park right outside the Catholic Church: 15 Well Street, Holywell CH8 7PL. 4pm/5pm: back in Warrington. Bring your friends along!

Vocation Weekend 25-27 Jan. 2019, Warrington, for Catholic men 18-30. Already 8 men booked in.  Contact: malleray@ssp.org

Adults curious to know more about Catholicism? Join our Saturday evening group of catechism for adults: most Saturdays 6pm-7pm, with Fr Loewenstein.

We are very glad that 7 adults have been coming regularly to learn about the Catholic faith and be received into the Church.

This will take place, please God, on Sunday 23rd June, external solemnity of Corpus Christi. The new Catholics will receive First Holy Communion that day (with other candidates). All are invited to pray for them and to join the Eucharistic procession across town that afternoon.

Two weeks later, on Thursday 4th July 2019 at 7:00pm, they will receive the sacrament of Confirmation from His Grace Archbishop Malcolm McMahon, OP of Liverpool, at St Mary’s Shrine.

Please contact Fr Loewenstein to join the adults group or to receive Confirmation or First Communion this here year: padrek@libero.it.

Marriage banns: Mr Joshua Langley will marry Miss Samantha Fraser at St Mary’s Shrine on Saturday 22nd June 2019, 12:10pm. Please pray for the engaged couple as they continue their preparation.

SYNOD 2020: On Sunday 3rd February at 3.00pm, the Archbishop, at a special service in the Cathedral, will celebrate formally the calling of a Synod for the Archdiocese of Liverpool. This Service will begin an important period of time leading up to the Synod itself in October 2020. As the Archbishop himself said in his Pastoral Letter for Synod Sunday 2018 the Synod is the time when we choose the path to walk on.

Everyone is welcome to come to this service.

PRIORY CAMPAIGN: By the end of January, a pre-planning application process should hopefully confirm the change of use from ‘Business’ to ‘Community’, enabling our trustees to decide which part of the building(s) to purchase.  Meanwhile, further donations are gratefully received, as we have only 1/3 of the asking price. Contact malleray@fssp.org for any inquiries.
